She was the first tenured professor at the School of Librarians, beginning in the school year 1919-1920. When she began teaching, she was in charge of putting together a curriculum preparatory class, which went back to 1919. This seminar included general culture subjects and it was meant to prepare students for the school’s admission test. In 1913 she received her high school diploma. The next year she started studying at the Liberal Arts School, which she graduated from on June, 1915. Lois fought for a woman’s right to be in government and to work.
